JOB TITLE: SADDLE FIT REPRESENTATIVE, TERRITORY SALES

Function: Direct Saddle Sales and Service
As a Saddle Fit Representative you will be responsible for cold calling; prospecting and building relationships that will increase penetration in a particular geographic area. You will be working with trainers and in barns while achieving revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Focus areas will include driving new business as well as delivering timely, excellent fitting service with existing clients.

What is expected of you for success in your role:

  • Advanced knowledge of Schleese Saddlery Service and the equine industry, including: key competitors, terminology, technology, trends, challenges; Working knowledge of how Schleese Saddlery's offerings match with a customer's unique equine needs.
  • Initiate and take ownership of principles of territory management, including: account planning, selling processes, post-sales implementation and service processes, deal economics, special event planning, customer educational outreach.
  • Effectively negotiate and collaborate with the customer and related professional colleagues to influence support for mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Build and sustain relationships founded on trust with internal and external customers and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Accountabilities in this role:
This is a Sales and Service Consultant role and candidates must have the following:

  • Strong customer focus / ability to build relationships and maintain accounts
  • Willingness to travel in designated area. Daily travel and overnight travel to accounts and to attend sales meetings, trade shows and horse shows
  • Good multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of equine anatomy and knowledge of Sport Horse Industry and saddlery is a definite asset; interest in learning and continuing education to 'fill in the blanks'
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong proven sales history
  • Proven history in cold calling, obtaining new business and growing a territory. 40% of this job requirement will be cold calling and prospecting; 60% will be maintaining the established customer accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years sales experience
  • Ability to travel 80% of time in territory, 20% out of territory
  • Proven product knowledge in business area
  • Physical strength and dexterity
  • Valid driver's license and credit card (business and travel expenses will be reimbursed)
